Dear Georgie D. Tyler Titan Family:
Dr. Steven Marable has been named as the new principal of Georgie Tyler Middle School. He brings to his new assignment considerable experience in public education having previously served as an assistant principal, lead teacher, and head varsity wrestling coach. He received a bachelor of science degree in Geography with minors in History and Political Science from Old Dominion University. He earned a master of arts degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from The George Washington University, as well as a doctorate in Educational Leadership & Policy from Virginia Tech.
“Dr. Marable will make a wonderful addition to the administrative team at Georgie Tyler,” said Dr. Perera. “His experience as an educator and school administrator will allow him to provide a comprehensive approach to leading the school toward continuous improvement.”
