Dear Georgie D. Tyler Titan Family:
Happy New Year and welcome back to the 2014-2015 school year! I hope that all of you had a wonderful winter break filled with lots of enjoyment, as well as rest and relaxation. Our teachers and staff are ready to Engage! with students as they embark upon the amazing journey of education in remaining school year. Here are a few reminders that will help with making a smooth transition back into the school routine:
The mission of Isle of Wight County Schools and Georgie D. Tyler Middle School is to prepare our 21st century learners for educational excellence. GTMS teachers and staff are more than prepared to meet this challenge head on as we guide students toward achieving academic success and encourage critical thinking, problem solving skills, and positive character traits along the way.
Remember, your child’s academic success takes teamwork and my door is always open to make sure that it happens. This is going to be a positive and engaging school year at GTMS! We look forward to working with you and your child to ensure a productive and safe learning environment that promotes the highest levels of student success.
Mrs. Susan Goetz
Principal, Georgie D. Tyler Middle School
IWCS has zero-tolerance for bullying and all of our schools are bully-free zones. As educators, we play a critical role in ensuring that our children are learning in a safe and healthy environment. As community members, it is our duty to stand up and speak up against bullying. I encourage anyone that is being bullied or has witnessed a bullying incident to notify an adult immediately or contact our School Information Tip (S.I.T.) line by calling 757-357-0908.
As always, my door is open, and I encourage you to give me a call if you have any questions. Thank you for your support.
